A Classic Beauty

This time of year, everyone starts talking about purchasing “transitional pieces”. Pieces that can take you from one season to another, seamlessly, and without having to do a complete overhaul of your closet. While I agree, it is always nice to have a handful of these “transitional pieces” on hand, I think that trying to build a closet of “classic beauties” is much more practical.

I’ll always buy a couple of trendy items every season (ie: my silver sneakers see > here), but for the most part, I try to be mindful of purchasing classics. Pieces that I can wear season after season – year after year. For example… a great black blazer… the perfect pair of leopard flats… a well made cashmere sweater… You know what I’m talking about.

More often that not, I splurge on items like these, but, once in a great while, I find a “classic beauty” that is affordable as well. This skirt is the perfect example. At just $27 now (use the code FRIENDS40 for 40% off your purchase) this is a classic piece that – a.) looks wayyy more expensive than it is – and b.) doesn’t break the bank .

You can style it as I have here… with a leather jacket, a 90’s -esque velvet choker, and my favorite shoe – the Stuart Weitzman nudist sandal. OR you can go for a more “work friendly” look and pair it with a white button down, neutral accessories, and simple jewelry. For a more “weekend” look, I’d wear it with a white tee, a jean jacket and low leather sandals.Right now, it is available in all sizes and I am wearing a size 0 for reference
