I’ve never admitted this here… but I am a HUGE YouTube watcher. I fall asleep to makeup videos every night. I have been binge watching everyone’s 2016 favorites videos and it got me thinking about my own. While I don’t have the gumption to start my own channel, I can definitely discuss my favorites here.

Makeup

2016 was a good year for makeup. I found a lot of new and awesome products! As my schedule filled up, I had less time to reapply makeup, so I found some awesome products that will last forever! I am just going to put these in the order I put them on so I don’t forget anything!

Primer: Didn’t have to think twice about this one. Benefit Porefessional GEL. Make sure you get the gel! I hate that siliconey feeling, so this is perfect!

Concealer: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightening. You can’t beat the price!

Foundation: Tart Amazonian Clay 12 hour. This is the best foundation, especially for photos. And it lasts forever!!!

Powder: Laura Mercier mineral powder.

CC Cream: IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream. I got this for Christmas, and it only took one use for it to make it into my favorites — it’s that good!

Contour: Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette

Highlight: is there even a question, Becca Champagne Pop

Blush: This one was the hardest for me to answer. MAC Lovejoy. Honorary mention: Tom Ford’s Love Lust.

Eye Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I keep trying to go back to Primer Potion, but I just don’t love it as much.

Eye Shadow: This was another one I didn’t have to think twice about. Tom Ford Quad in Nude Dip. I could go the rest of my life with these 4 shades.

Eyeliner: Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er. I use Urban Decay 24/7 on my water line!

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter

Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash

Lipstick: VELVET TEDDY. I might die for Velvet Teddy, I love it that much.

Skin

 

This is where I really experimented this year — and I’m proud of myself for it. I had the worst skin in high school, I was on Accutane and everything, so I am always super nervous to mix it up in case I break out.

Makeup Remover: Makeup Eraser. Best thing EVER.

Cleanser: Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip. This smells so good, it’s gentle but effective.

Moisturizer: Indie Lee Squalene Facial Oil. I went through two of these last year! I love that it’s all natural and so hydrating!

Mask: I never thought I would abandon my Glamglow, but this charcoal mask from Dermalogica is AMAZING.

Corrective Treatment: I use these interchangeably, and switch off every night. Sunday Riley Good Genes & Luna

Hair & Fragrance

 

Not much has changed since my Oribe post — I still love the products so much! And now that it’s available at Nordstrom, I love it even more!

Shampoo & Conditioner: Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo & Conditioner.

Dry Shampoo: I’m ride or die Batiste. It’s the best!

Leave – In Conditioner: Oribe Super Shine Moisturizing Creme.  I also love Jen Atkin’s Ouai Finishing Creme.

Texturizer: There is nothing better than the Oribe Dry Textruzing Spray. Nothing.

Accessory: Invisibobble — these things are the best!

Fragrance: I discovered two new fragrances this year: Maison Margiela’s Lipstick On and Le Labo’s  The Noir 29.
