It’s time to award yourself! I wrote this post at Fashion Week –but my travel schedule has been nuts since then! This week, we have the last of our NYFW posts an then next week, I will get into London & Paris! Right when we landed in NYC, we popped over to Kroger to stock up on healthy snacks for our my trip. I reached for this copy of InStyle while in line at the checkout. Even though I had already packed all of my outfits, I love flipping through fashion magazines to gain inspiration for how I can pair together all the pieces I packed.
Award Yourself with Me Time:
I was definitely nervous packing for this Fashion Week — when we went in September, it was so hot, so that was easier to pack for. But since it’s SO cold in New York in February, things got a little bit trickier. I packed mostly coats — that was all I worried about fitting in my suitcase. Plus a few pairs of leggings, jeans, and black tops to wear under all my coats. And of course, I couldn’t be basic at Fashion Week, so I relied on InStyle to help me drudge up some inspo on how to pair everything together in fun and unexpected ways. I also picked up PEOPLE & StyleWatch — two of my favorites. The book recommendations in PEOPLE are SO GOOD! Fun fact: one of my bucket list blogger goals is to end up in StyleWatch!
My biggest thing for this trip was trying to balance looking cute and stylish, while also staying warm. It’s a lot harder than it sounds! I heard so many nightmare stories about traveling to New York in February. My photographer was telling me that she went one season and it was so cold her lens actually cracked — I was freaked out! As you can see in my suitcase, I packed a lot of neutrals. Surprise, surprise! But I tried to jazz them up with some fun pops of color, and texture in the form of accessories. I love fur stoles, cute pom beanies, fun ear muffs, and even a statement glove!
Another reason that picking up these magazines was so important for this trip — because it is SO hard to unplug. During Fashion Week, everything is always GO GO GO. We ran ourselves ragged last season trying to get all of our posts and reviews up, photos edited, Instagrams planned, etc. This time, it was really important to just take some time to relax and unwind and put the phone AWAY. And what better way to do this?
Plus, there were so many good beauty and hair tips too — which definitely helped during the trip! The trip shaped up to be perfect, but man, am I ready for spring? I’m ready to trade in this parka for a swimsuit! But first, I’m headed to London for Fashion Week — and then to Paris for the very first time!! I am giddy with excitement! And not going to lie, when I was perusing these magazines — I saw some gorgeous items for my shopping wish list to purchase while I’m there while I was perusing these magazines.
Be sure and use these coupons next time you shop at your local Kroger:
And don’t forget to award yourself with some me time! Like I touched on in this post, taking time for you is SO important — I know this is so easy to forget, but you’ll thank me later! #adv
Need to have this conversation with myself! Why do I always put me time last?
On it this week!
Thanks for sharing!

I love me some me time <3
I love Me Time! And I always pick up magazines to unwind with a glass of wine or before bed (and to check out all the fabulous styles)! Thanks for sharing the coupons – I can’t wait to pick up a People Style Watch when I’m at the grocery store!
