I am finally getting around to writing my Positano Travel Guide. If I’m being completely honest, I think I put it off for so long, because looking back at these photos makes me really sad. I miss it every single day. I keep waking up praying that leaving Positano was just a bad dream. We’ve been back for a month now, and I think I’m finally okay with writing this. We’ll see…
Where to Stay:
Hotel Poseidon. I don’t think I can stay anywhere else having stayed here on our last trip. Check out my full hotel review here.
Where to Eat:
Chez Black is the cutest family owned restaurant right on the beach. We went here for lunch. We got to chat with the owner and his son — and they were SO sweet! Next time, I definitely want to check out their other restaurant, Rada. I got the gnocchi, and it was incredible.
I came here every single day and got lemon sorbetto served in an empty lemon. It was the highlight of each day!
Get the spaghetti & clams, trust me. This is where we went our first night in Positano. It was super private, and had the most gorgeous view of the ocean, and a private beach. We drank rosé and watched the most gorgeous sunset. The concierge at our hotel, Marco killed it with this recommendation.
We went here on our last night in Positano. We finally adapted to Italian dinner time, which is pretty late, so it was dark and I didn’t get to take any photos. But the food and ambience here was great. Ask to be seated outside on the terrace!
What to Do:
Go to a beach club.
We rented first row chairs one day at the beach club and it was so worth it! We went to the one at the main beach, but next time we go, I definitely want to try one of the more private beaches. But we had so much fun! The pizza was incredible, and Joe really enjoyed the buckets of beers!
Rent a boat for the day .
We used Lucibello. We chose the half day option because we were already going to Capri after Positano. The boat picked us up in the Marina and cruised down the Amalfi Coast toward the town of Amalfi. This is by far the best thing we did. I would highly recommend this. The views are insane, and you get to learn so much about the little coastal towns, explore some grottos, and even cruise by Sofia Loren’s house! Such a perfect way to spend half your day!
Explore the local shops.
The windy roads of Positano house some of the cutest shops I’ve ever seen. They had so many amazing custom sandal shops, gorgeous hats, art galleries, and cute little gelato shops up everywhere. To get from the beach to our hotel we could either wind up and down the roads (the long way) or go straight up and down the stairs. We liked to mix it up — after dinner we usually took the long way. I got this cute hat there & it was super affordable!
More Positano Photos:
I have never been to a place that captured my heart more than Positano. Can hardly wait to go back next year. Hotel Poseidon was amazing as well as the people that work there.
