Ashley’s Top Anniversary Sale 2018:

With every year that passes with this sale, some things change, but a lot stays the same. Let’s start with my usual purchases. I always always always buy jeans. I love that Madewell is on Nordstrom now, because these ones are too good to pass up. I am also loving these from Good American — I’ve never put on a pair I didn’t like. I always buy booties — just picked up this pair and this one. I love to get a good mix of booties, and OTK boots. These candles are a sale staple for me every single year — I am burning one right now, and they are always great to have on hand for a last minute gift.

Next up are my favorite categories: tees, cardigans and jackets. These items tend to sell out super fast so scoop them up while you can. This pullover is going to sell out FOR SURE. It’s hands down one of my favorite items I purchased last year, and at this price, I will probably buy the zip-up version too. I love the texture of this cardigan. And this one from Free People is a perfect staple. If you aren’t a cardigan lover, this is my favorite pullover. These tees are my go-to. I think I have like 5-6 and the quality is amazing. Mine from last year are still in great shape.

Here’s a tip: buy cozy clothes during the sale. This year the loungewear selection is legit AF. The Barefoot Dreams stuff is going to go ASAP, and I love all my stuff from them. The Cozy Chic Cardigan is my number one! These pajamas are amazing staples. And I just recently bought this Spanx bralette at full price, and I love it.

Active and beauty are going to be kind of new for me this year. I am super picky about my activewear, but since Alo and Zella are a huge part of the sale this year, I’m all in. I love these leggings, these crop leggings,  also these crop leggings and this hoodie.

My splurge piece this year is these Alexander Wang sandals, one of my best friends has them and I am OBSESSED.

As usual, I never get to shop the sale in person. Because Reno doesn’t have a Nordstrom, I am the queen of shopping the sale online. As usual, I picked up a new pair of  OTK boots — they are always a staple and they get me through the long and cold Reno winters. This year I bought these amazing beige ones as I already have 3 pairs of black OTK boots. If I didn’t have so many — I would definitely pick up this pair! Such a great look at such a great price. Next – I picked up my favorite dresses – all by Eliza J. I got this emerald green one, this amazing navy stunner, and this showstopping blue jumpsuit. I also picked up a couple others that were on sale. This one, this one and this one.

Then I looked for classic coats that I know will stand the test of time. I picked up this lavender lovely, this camel coat, and this classic black wrap coat that I know I will wear over and over again.

Next I scooped up some amazing multipurpose cardigans and ponchos. Whenever I look for these, I am always looking for items that I can wear in a variety of ways – with jeans and a white tee in the fall, over a black dress in the winter, and right now over shorts. I am so excited to get this camel one, this black one, and this plaid one in the mail!

A surprising aspect of the sale – to me – was how many amazing skirts they featured. I bought this tweed one, and this gorgeous asymmetrical black one. I feel like this is my season for skirts and I absolutely cannot wait!

As far as beauty and home items… I picked up a bunch of my favorite candles. If you haven’t tried these candles – you have no idea what you are missing. I love having a bunch of these on hand for gifts. Next – as I talked about on stories, I picked up my favorite texturizing spray – I use it as a multipurpose dry shampoo as well – and I finally bought this skincare starter kit. I have been waiting to try this line for ages!

Next I scooped up some items for the kids. I bought Caroline some more bows, I invested in this UV pop up tent, and I got these North Face jackets for both the boys.

Lastly – let’s talk about splurge items. I bought this beautiful bow top, and I am still contemplating this dress. I just hope it doesn’t sell out!

Stay tuned tomorrow, because we’ll be featuring all our top picks under $50!
