Congratulations to this gorgeous couple! Jon and Hiliary’s wedding was an absolute fairytale. I felt so honored to be a part of their special day and can’t wait to share these memories with everyone.
Disclaimer: This post is going to be long– it was too hard to cut down on what not to include so I pretty much included everything.
First, lets talk about the outfit so we can get to the good stuff. I wore this amazing TBags dress to the wedding. I shot it a few days before the big event because I knew I would be running late and stressing about making it on time to the wedding. And of course, I was right. The dress turned out to be perfect. It was comfortable, didn’t wrinkle, and allowed me to dance all night. And maybe even sing with the band– more on that later.

Rehearsal Day
The festivities began Friday morning. Bunny had rented out (who knew you could do this!) our favorite nail salon, Joy Joy, and treated us all to manicures and pedicures. We had champagne and really enjoyed our time with the Bride and Groom’s moms and sisters.
Then we headed to Presidio Social Club for Bunny’s Bridal Luncheon. The food was seriously amazing— but the company was even better. And of course, champs was involved. We had so much fun getting to know one another better and just laughing at silly memories of Bunny and Jon. After realizing that this would be Bunny’s last time checking into a reservation under “Robertson” we did a serious cheers and cherished the last single moments with our beautiful friend.
The Rehearsal Dinner
A huge thank you to Jon’s parents- Dave & Carole Shurtz for hosting this incredible rehearsal dinner. You treated us all like family and for that I am incredibly grateful. The dinner was held at Town Hall Restaurant in the Financial District of San Francisco. The restaurant is located in an amazing neighborhood in an incredible brick building which served as the perfect backdrop to celebrate the our favorite couple. The rehearsal dinner was incredibly special and intimate- Mr. Shurtz even gave me a 49er shoutout in his speech, which was the highlight of my night. The wine was incredible, the food was amazing and the photo opportunities were clearly one of a kind.
Leading up to the wedding I had heard countless, and I mean countless stories, about Jon’s group of friends. From their Brodeo weekends, the Bachelor party in Mexico and all of their football stories down in Southern California– these guys had a lot to live up to. And boy did they (as seen above). Jon’s crew of friends quickly fit right into our group. After the rehearsal dinner everyone was getting along so well that we decided to all go out to Tonga Room together. By the time the wedding came around, we were as good as family.
The Wedding

The wedding was truly perfect. Bunny looked drop-dead gorgeous and her dress was absolute perfection. When I saw her walk up the aisle my heart truly stopped for a moment- her hair and makeup of course were perfect, but it was her smile that was the most beautiful of all. There was so much love in the room and you really could feel it all throughout the chapel. They asked me to do a reading at the wedding- which was such an honor- but I was soooo nervous. It was right after she walked in so it was hard to gain my composure but I think I did okay.
The wedding was held at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco. The views were unreal and the weather was perfect. The walk down from the chapel to the venue was the most incredible view of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Bunny’s dress was by Israeli designer Lihi Hod. We were obsessed with it from the moment she put it on. A few months after she picked out her gown, this article came out, which just proves how ahead of the times and fashionable Bunny really is.
Cocktail hour was a hit, there was a guitarist singing my favorite jams, most notable “When the Stars Go Blue.” Big thanks Bunny for including my One Tree Hill obsession into your wedding even though I couldn’t convince you to let me read Lucas Scott quotes for my reading during the ceremony. The appetizers were amazing and the sliders were literally flying off the plates. The poor waiters got accosted by the boys when they saw that platter coming out.
I snuck into the main room to take photos before the other guests were allowed in- I felt super VIP. I was blown away by how good of a job they did planning all the little details. The flowers were unreal and I was even obsessed with the water glasses. Their impeccable taste plus the amazing views at the venue made for the most beautiful evening.
Let me just take a final moment to acknowledge the band, Pure Ecstasy. Not only have they performed the National Anthem at both Giants and 49ers games, but they performed at Jim Harbaugh’s wedding. Now when Jon told me this I think I giggled like a giddy 15 year old. But this band did not disappoint. We danced to Motown all night and my feet hurt so bad the next day, even though I was in flats at this point. Preston and his crew totally killed it and even let me sing a little bit of “I’ll be There” and man, am I glad no one has that evidence. My only regret is that we didn’t drag them to the after party.
The whole evening was perfect and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Bunny & Jon.
The Aftermath
The next morning one of the groomsmen, Suraj, threw a brunch for everyone at his amazing home. His place was so amazing, I decided to call it The Surajmahal- needless to say, I think that is a name that will stick around forever. We all sat and recapped the amazing night over chicken & waffles, bagels & lox, and mimosas & bloodies.
It was then that we discovered my selfies with each parent of the couple. I was missing one with Jane, Bunny’s mom, but I hunted her down to complete the most amazing PicStitch of all time. It was the perfect end to the weekend. Now, I just want to do it all over again.
Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Shurtz and thanks to you and your families for one hell of a weekend. It was one that we will never forget!
Yeah dear, I was also looking for a marriage location or venue for a reception party and other celebrations. Then my friend told me that NY venues are spectacularly designed for your outdoor and indoor wedding. I liked her idea.
