Afternoon at Arrowood: A Day Trip with my Blogger Babes

afternoon at arrowood

A few weekends ago, I spent an afternoon at Arrowood Winery. I headed to Glen Ellen with some of my favorite blogger babes. Wine country on Whole 30? Call me crazy… but, it can be done!

Afternoon at Arrowood:

The weather was dreary that afternoon, but we threw on our Hunter boots, and hoped for the best. The vineyards were actually gorgeous covered in fog and rain! I had just returned from being home for the holidays and hadn’t seen my blogger friends since before the New Year. I loved the long ride up there, as it gave us all a chance to catch up!

We walked into the most gorgeous scene. The fireplace was cracking, and all the chairs looked so cozy and inviting! After we all said hellos to our hosts, we headed upstairs for our tasting and our meal. They did such an amazing job preparing this event for us! The incredibly talented winemaker, Kristina Werner  sat down with us during the meal, and answered all of our questions. Each wine pairing was thoughtfully matched with an amazing dish from The Girl and the Fig!

I didn’t know what the menu was going to be, so I was crazy and packed an entire Whole30 lunch bag, but I could actually eat most of the dishes; which was a great surprise. And boy was I glad because the food was UNREAL. The hardest part about being on Whole 30 was not only the wine, which smelled delicious, but not being able to eat the black truffle ravioli 🙁 but I really enjoyed the heirloom carrots and braised oxtail. I will definitely be going to The Girl & The Fig next time I’m in Glen Ellen! Thanks to all my blogger babes who let me smell all your glasses and live vicariouslt through you! And a huge thanks to Arrowood, who gave me sparkling cider, and accommodated all of my crazy dietary requests. I promise I’m usually less high maintenance!

I wore this cute lace up sweater from Tart collections, and my favorite cold weather jacket from Columbia! Not your normal wine tasting gear, but it was perfect for the weather!

They were so kind and sent us home with some wine, and you bet that on February 1st I’ll be popping open that bottle! Our afternoon at Arrowood was so much fun, I can’t wait to go back!

Huge thanks to my blogger bestie, Sassy Red Lipstick, for letting me borrow all these photos! I didn’t even get my camera out because the new iPhone 7plus camera is just SO good, but it’s making me lazy!
