Emily’s Makeup Routine

I get asked all the time what my makeup routine is and what products I use. It has been happening more and more recently, so I decided I needed somewhere to send everyone when they ask. So here we have it… Emily’s Makeup Routine.

Shop Emily’s Makeup Routine:

Even though I do change my makeup routine up once in a while, it has stayed fairly consistent. I use a lot of the same products that I used back in college – but I have definitely added in some new products over the years. What I think you will like is that I use a combination of drug store products with higher end products. For most categories of my makeup routine, I have a high end product that I love and then a low end product as well. Sometimes – I only actually have the drugstore option. For example – I’ve NEVER bought a high end eyeliner – because my $7 eyeliner from the drugstore is the best, and I’ve never strayed.

Emily’s Makeup Routine:

Face Oil:

Vintner’s Daughter: I start with this amazing face oil every single day.  I know the price tag is hefty, but it is totally worth it. After washing your face, put two drops on your fingertips, and pat it into your skin. I especially love it for under my eyes and on my forehead where I tend to be especially dry. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before you apply your makeup. It helps your makeup go on smooth and gives your skin the most beautiful dewey look.

Foundation – Full Coverage:

Giorgio Armani: This is the best matte full coverage foundation I have found. It goes on smooth, never looks shiny, and it covers ALL my melasma! I wear the shade 3.5.

It Cosmetics CC Cream: This CC cream is what I usually wear during the day. It is pretty full coverage, dewey, and it feels nice and moisturizing on your skin.

Maybelline Whip: I have been using this amazing foundation since college, and I still love it. It goes on weightlessly and is perfectly full coverage.

Tinted Moisturizer:

Charlotte Tilbury: If I am at home for the day, but still have to look presentable, this is what I wear. It is super light, moisturizing, and it gives you a nice soft finish.

Concealer:

Tarte Shape Tape:This concealer is SO amazing. It covers any blemishes you may have, and my undereye circles literally vanish when I put it on.

It Cosmetics Undereye:If I need a concealer that is a little more hydrating – this one is amazing as well!

Maybelline Undereye:If you’re looking for an $8 quick fix, Ashley and I swear by this one!

Loose Powder:

Laura Mercier Transluscent:This loose powder immediately takes any shine away. I never leave home without it!

Pressed Powder:

Laura Mercier Pressed Powder:If you don’t like loose powder, or you need something easy and compact (no pun intended) this is the way to go!

Bronzer:

Guerlain Terracotta:I have gotten everyone I know hooked on this bronzer. It makes you look like you are fresh off the plane from the Bahamas!

NudeStix Bronzing Pencil:If you don’t like a powder bronzer and you want more of a countouring stick – I love this one in the shade: Bondi Bae.

Hula:I have literally been using this bronzer since high school and I don’t think I will ever stop!

Blush:

Benefit Galifornia:This is the perfect peach blush for day!

Nars Orgasm:An oldie but a goodie! This is the blush I wear at night!

Eyeliner:

Revlon Colorstay in Black/Brown:I have never bought an expensive eyeliner because this one at $7 is the best out there!

Brows:

It Cosmetics Brow Pencil:I can’t quit this brow pencil. I use this in between microblading sessions when I need a quick touch up!

Shadow:

Tartlette Palette:Literally the only palette you need – ever!

Becca Highlighter:I put this on my browbone and sometimes on my lid if I’m going for a natural look!

Highlghter:

Becca Highlighter: I use this on the apples of my cheeks!

Nars Stick in Copacobana:Perfect for if you’re going for a beachy look!

Mascara:

Don’t wear it because of my eyelashes

Lips:

Sara Happ:This gloss in the rose gold color is literally my go to lip gloss! It looks good on EVERYONE!

NYX Butter Gloss:$4 – the shade Madelline – enough said.

Nars Turkish Delight:I have been using this since high school and it is the perfect pale pink!

Max Factor:If you are more of a lipstick gal… this one is only $7 and gives you the perfect nude lip! Plus – prime shipping! SCORE!
