If you had asked me a month ago about the trend I thought I WOULD NEVER wear…. I would have told you, without hesitation, the bike shorts trend. I don’t know why… I but I just didn’t think I was cool enough… or that they would look good on me. But on a phone call with Ashley – she said, “Em – you’ve gotta get on the bike short trend. I seriously think you’ll love them.”

One of the best parts about creating content for the blog with my best friend is that we’re always pushing one another.  Ashley knew that biker shorts were – for sure – out of my realm of comfort. So that is how this post was born. People always say that the magic happens right outside of your comfort zone… and if I have learned anything during my five years of blogging… it is definitely that. It’s always in your most “out there” and most vulnerable moments that you grow. So I decided I would order a pair of bike shorts.  Worst case scenario – I wouldn’t like them. Best case scenario – they would get me out of my comfort zone. They’d make for some super cute photos. And maybe, just maybe, I’d have a whole new lewk to wear! I mean – everyone is wearing bike shorts right now – I had to at least give them a go!

I ordered these Jockey bike shorts from Zappos – because the price was just right and the reviews were amazing. I also loved the waistband situation. If I was going to try on a pair of bike shorts – they were going to have to be high waisted – and I wanted them to be long enough on my leg as well. When I got them, I was pleasantly surprised. The waistband is firm but not constricting, and they definitely come up over your belly button which I love. Then the length is also perfect. They hit a couple inches above the knee which was exactly what I was looking for.  The cotton blend fabric also just does it for you. I love that the fabric is stretchy, but t-shirt material-y enough that it doesn’t pinch your lower thigh. No knee rolls here! That was probably my biggest hang up about wearing bike shorts – that they would dig into me in all the wrong places – but I have to say…. I was SO pleasantly surprised by these.

If there is one thing I am good at – it is admitting when I am wrong. And I am here to say… I was SOOO wrong. Bike shorts are amazing. They make me feel sexy and confident. AND they are super comfortable. If you’ve been on the fence about buying bike shorts… jump on the train. Now is the time. They’re super on trend, they make you feel like a Kardashian, and these bike shorts from Jockey via Zappos don’t break the bank. If you’re looking to test the trend out, like I was, they really are the perfect way to ease yourself in!

Now to the other items in the post.  The Tshirt is the perfect pairing with the bike shorts. And these shoes give you that perfect edge to finish off your look!

*** Thank you to Zappos for partnering on this post ***
