This is going to make me sound like a huge brat, but I think it will get my point across. It takes A LOT to impress me. But when I met with the founder of Birdies Slippers, I left the coffee shop feeling inspired, impressed and excited.
Their motto is “home is where your story begins.” The company was founded by two bad ass business babes — both with full-time careers, and families. We all know that at the end of a long day, all we want to do is come home, take off the real pants, take off the bra, take off the shoes and put on comfy clothes. I refer to this look as my “house clothes.” These ensembles are 99% of the time not cute. And that’s where Birdies Slippers come in. Not only is the company founded by best friends just like us, but they share so many of the same ideals as we do.
Emily and I are both huge homebodies, even if it may not seem like it from social media. Birdies were created so women like you guys can host a dinner party in your slippers, but still be the chicest person in the room.
The idea behind the slipper is that it should be worn in the home, but is cute enough to wear on the street. A fashionable slipper you can wear without looking like a bum. What a genius idea. The first thing I do when I get up is put them on. It’s been super cold here recently, so I chose the shearling insole style, but if that’s not your thing, they also have a quilted gold style as well.
Birdies are well loved by celebrities as well. Emmy Rossum and Meghan Markle rock their Birdies all the time. If you are looking for the perfect gift, definitely check them out. They are super luxurious, and it’s such a thoughtful gift. And if they’re good enough for Prince Harry’s girlfriend…. I’m just sayin!
