This is going to sound really crazy, but last Sunday there was a minor earthquake in the Bay Area. I was home alone and got really scared– so what’s a girl to do? Obviously, I went shopping. I needed new candles so I headed to Bath and Body Works and when I walked by Old Navy, I saw they were having a sale so I decided it was a good time to stock up on some basics. I am going to Palm Springs next weekend (keep an eye out for those posts) so I was looking for some good tanks and tees to bring with me on my trip. My closet is full of sweaters, flannels, and long sleeve t-shirts. Not exactly Palm Springs appropriate. Even though you can’t tell in these photos, this shirt is sleeveless. A wise man once said ” the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” That could not be more true. In order to wear my new shirt I needed to layer- it has been so cold and foggy here recently. I am just counting down the days (10!!!) until I am laying by the pool in 100 degree weather.

These photos were taken at one of my most favorite places. My friend Bobby’s parents have pretty much adopted me and they are my second family. They’re the closest thing I have to family here in the Bay Area and I treasure every minute we have together. It’s so nice to just sit down at a table with people that you love and have a real home cooked meal. They are old school Italian and cook the best food in the entire world. They had me over for dinner this night and made Pollo al Mattone (chicken under a brick)- here is a similar recipe. It was fabulous! And then since my PMS was in full force they didn’t even judge me when I crushed up brownie bites into a tub of ice cream and ate it right of the container. Now that is true love and acceptance.
