How to Pick a Swimsuit Without Losing Your Confidence

I have done the impossible. I finally found the perfect swimsuit. And I didn’t cry while trying it on. I didn’t look in the mirror with disgust. I surprisingly loved it the second I tried it on!

We’ve all been there: whether it’s in a poorly lit dressing room, or at home in front of a mirror — the struggle of finding a flattering swimsuit is tough. I’ve been known to shed a tear or two while going through this process. This is going to sound gross, but I have seriously worn the same black tie swimsuit bottom for YEARS. I just change out the top — because I can not find another one that I like ( you can see it here). It’s boring, and not stylish. But it was the only thing I felt confident in — that didn’t cut me in a weird way.

I finally found a designer that flatters my body type: Becca Swim. So if you’re a curvy girl like me, seriously run and order a few pieces. I’ve actually been stalking their Instagram, and their tagged pics — and the suits look amazing on every body type. They also have a plus size line, which I love because it’s mostly the same styles as the regular line. Every body type should be able to feel beautiful and confident when headed to the beach, pool, or vacation. Check out all of her pieces here: Becca Swim.

I have never worn a one-piece before, but was obsessed the second I put this on! I love the cut out details along the top, and the mesh around the waist really helps to create an hourglass illusion (which I do not have). I ordered quite a few Becca pieces from Zappos for this shoot. A few of them didn’t work out, but their customer service was SO helpful and sent over my exchanges overnight. Everything in round 2 worked out perfectly and I can’t wait to show you the rest.

I was getting a lot of anxiety leading up to this summer because I am traveling almost every weekend until the end of June, and a lot of those trips require a swimsuit. But after discovering Becca, I am set for the whole season! Along with this one piece and cover-up, I got another one piece, a black high waisted bottom, and two tops I can mix and match! Keep an eye out for these soon!

A huge thanks to Zappos for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
