My Nonsurgical Nose Job

My nose has always had a rounded bump from the side. Joe never noticed it. Ashley never noticed it.  My parents never noticed it. But I did. Straight on – I loved my nose. But from the side, it was a little rounded. Here’s the deal, nothing was wrong with my rounded nose.

I know that. But I didn’t like it.

I started looking into different options to change my nose about two years ago. I got two consults for actual nose jobs, and I just could never pull the trigger.

What if I woke up looking like a totally different person? 

I was also pregnant, breastfeeding, or had work requirements that didn’t allow for the downtime of a nose job. So I sought out something that would fit my lifestyle better. I started to look into a less invasive option – the nonsurgical nose job.

What is a nonsurgical nose job? 

“A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting filler into the nose to alter the shape, the nostrils or bridge height.” via Google. Essentially, a variation of the filler that is used for my lips would be injected into different parts of my nose to smooth out the roundness. The ideal outcome would be a straight bridge of the nose.

FYI – There are risks to nonsurgical nose jobs – as there are with most injectable procedures. Be sure to talk to your healthcare professional about those.

How long have nonsurgical nose jobs been around? 

The man who is often credited with inventing the nonsurgical nose job is Dr. Alexander Rivkin. You can read an article all about him and the procedure>>> here. It is a relatively new procedure, but many people offer the service. I love that you can essentially achieve the same outcome as a traditional rhinoplasty without any of the downtime. The one downside is that it doesn’t last forever like a traditional rhinoplasty would.

How long does a nonsurgical nose job last for? 

Voluma – which is the injectable that was used for my nonsurgical nose job – will last anywhere from a year and a half to two years. There is a more permanent option, but I wanted to be sure I liked the outcome before electing for the more permanent solution.

How long does a nonsurgical nose job take?

First and foremost – I had to do a consult. The consult took about 15-30 minutes and it was the longest part of the whole procedure. The numbing takes 10-15 minutes, and the actual procedure takes less than 10 minutes.

Who did you go to for your nonsurgical nose job? 

As with any profession, not all injectors are created equally. You want to make sure you find THE BEST OF THE BEST. You want to go to someone who does them frequently. You want to go to someone who is experienced, and I would definitely ask to see their gallery of before and after photos.

I went to Darian at the Injection Gal for mine. I found Darian when I was looking for someone to do my Cosmelan Peel. She is incredible. She is SO well versed and knowledgeable in all areas of her job and her business. She sees SO many clients daily <<< this was important to me because I wanted to go to someone who is in high demand and is constantly practicing their craft. She has also been doing nonsurgical nose jobs for years – so she has extensive practice.

I cannot stress it enough… this is not something you want to do with someone who is inexperienced. I love that Darian is constantly training with and shadowing doctors in the US and the UK for continuing education. She seeks out these opportunities and I think it says so much about her as a professional and as a person. She has actually actively trained under Dr. Rivkin – aka the father of nonsurgical nose jobs. What I really love about Darian is that she is cautious. She discusses all the risks with you. She tells you exactly what to watch out for. Then she checks in with you after your procedure. She really is just THE best in our area.

What does a nonsurgical nose job cost? 

Generally speaking, the procedures will cost anywhere from $1,000 – $2,5000 (depending on where you live – in Reno, we are on the low end of that) and with Darian, you get a complimentary touch up at one month. I think that is SO crucial, because you may have some settling, or you may notice you need more in a certain area!

How do I like my nonsurgical nose job and did anyone notice? 

I LOVE it. I absolutely LOVE it. The best part… not ONE person noticed. Joe didn’t even notice. I did it two weeks ago and not ONE person has said a thing. I think that is what I love most. I can tell, but no one else can. There was no downtime, it was SO easy, and I love how subtle it is. However – when you see the photos below – you will BE SHOCKED!!! Even Joe couldn’t believe it!
